I showed this to my wife and told her we could get matching bikes. She took my credit cards out of my wallet and walked away.

I donīt understand why you start a new thread with these pics instead of putting them in the existing Fatboy thread.

...So the subscription to threads becomes totally senseless.

Well im thinking its a perfect excuse for a new thread, how often do we get a new tyre... nevermind a new manufacturer.

Go count the wally threads Flo.

Gotta love the fact that big guys are stepping up to the plate. Competition has got to be good for the fat bike community.

I think it's time somebody developed something really new in tire technology. Fat bike tires are one of biggest weight factors on the bike.

Has to be something like a full kevlar casing and knobs without the rubber, and be able to handle deep cold. About a lb. per would about right.

Good point but nevertheless I donīt see a well chosen thread name, so the first real information about the ground controls will get a new thread I bet!

Therefor the search results are quite crappy in here.

    Nothing personal against shanesbw!
Itīs a general problem and the fatbike community will grow in the next months...

There's money to be made on a knobby that's a few mm narrower than Lou, thus capable of fitting on everyone's 170mm "sized for BFL before Surly announced Bud&Lou" frames. These tires look narrower than Lou so I've got high hopes.

    Sorry off topic but...
The MTBR search function is busted so bad, here's an example

    MTBR: tubeless http://forums.mtbr.com/search.php?searchid=47883
    Google: site:forums.mtbr.com/fat-bikes "tubeless" https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=si...hrome&ie=UTF-8

On topic, but how much do they weigh?!

Shall we play the estimate game, as to how much the tires will cost? I am going to guess Specialized is going to price them at $140 each. Would be cool if they came out at $80 each. Then again they would always be sold out at that price.

120TPI Nate = $150 and 120TPI Lou/Bud is $170 so my guess for these Special Ed tires in a high TPI version is $160.

I'm hoping they price them inline with On-One Floaters. Seems like a good value price point Specialized.

I've heard a few different prices for each model. I ordered mine and it was 2k(1999.99), but I've heard dealers are selling for 1.9K(1899.99) so not really sure.

I think there's zero chance of that happening.

According to the purchaser for one of the largest Specialized dealers in the southeastern United States:

2014 Fatboy (base model). MSRP is $1999.99. Sizes are S, M, L, and XL. Two color options - either black/gold or green. Available sometime in December.

2014 Fatboy Expert. MSRP is $2599.99. Sizes are S, M, L and XL. Only color is black/flo-red. Available sometime in December.

Both Fatboy bikes will be produced in a very limited quantity.

The shop needs to place their orders by the end of September for the Fatboy bikes.
