    Fat Bike Race in Ontario

We're still waiting for final confirmation on timing and some minor details, but this Saturday, February 11 at 3pm the Kearney Sled Dog Races will be hosting their first Fat Bike Challenge. Welcoming both racers and casual riders alike, we have 2 laps of a groomed 4 mile course that winds through the woods and along the main street of Kearney to show what fat tire bikes are capable of. If you have a bike, we hope to see you out on the trails, or if you're in the area swing by and cheer on the favourites.

This is the first time bikes are being welcomed onto the sled dog trails and should this event show sufficient interest this year we hope to grow it in following years to include multiple distances including the 120 mile race overnighting in Algonquin Park

It's great to see a first race in Canada! Too bad it's too far and last mninute notice for me to drive to it. I'm in Quebec, near Sherbrooke. I just drove 20h to and back to the Arrowhead ultra race in Minnesota. Loved it, great race, great people. If the 120 mile Ontario race becomes a reality next year, I would be there. Where would it be posted? Any website?

Good luck with your event this week end!

Unfortunately, I'm in Guelph... Kearney is way too far for me to travel.

If only i would have known about this a few weeks ago...
I already have plans. It would also help if the race course distance was longer than 8miles to justify the drive up from Paris.
You can let the organizers know that i would be in for the 120 mile overnight course for next year.
    For sure!
    Borgschulze maybe we could carpool?
flambert33 ,WOW looking at your Arrowhead ultra race results you are a very serious competitor.that is a talented field. Nice work! Hope to meet you next year.

Thanks Big Hustler. I'm quite satisfied with my race and really loved the event. Hopefully the Ontario race will live next year! It would be great to have such an event on home turf. Cheers.

    Was a great race!

Only 6 riders, but it was great.

    I made 2nd place

Maybe Adam will post some more photos, he took more than I did.
