    Fat back on discovery channel

I was watching a recent episode of flying wild alaska and they were riding around on a couple nice looking fatbacks. Cool stuff.

I was going to post the same thing today! They looked like Ti Fatbacks with carbon forks. Nothing better than a hot eskimo on a fatbike!

I am the dirtbag talking about propane...the crew did a solo interview with me and Titianna (she's a Ti Fatback) later in the day after shooting the day's footage...still haven't seen the episode yet so I don't know if she made the cut or if they got footage of someone else somewhere else...

just a small point of order...the term Eskimo can be a bit of a racial slur...the indigenous peoples of the lower end of the Kuskokwim are Yupik, the Inuit are from Northwest Canadia...

A lot of the natives in the Yukon delta/Bering Straight area prefer Eskimo, considering Yupik just the name of their language. They all referred to themselves as Eskimo when I worked in Stebbins, Saint Michael and Unalakleet in Norton Sound for the summer in 2010

I did not intent to use a racial slur.....I just remember on the episode they prepared a traditional "Eskimo feast"...so I assumed she was an Eskimo...that's all.

I just watched that episode and those bikes were nice. He was even jumping and catching some air! The bikes are in the show at around the 3/4 point.

This is the show: flying wild alaska season 2 episode 12 New Wings Over Alaska

It's available free online through some rogue sites but I'll link the pay sites below.

    Ah Yupik.

Yeah not that big of a thing. On the discover website they even refer to themselves as Eskimo this and that.

...no worries, just a minor point of order...most folks still use the term, however, much like the Indians and Eskimos of Canada prefer the term "First Nations" man / woman, there has been a recent movement towards using proper names such as Yupik, Inupiaq, etc...
