Dreaming about a Trail Specific Single Speed Fat with a Bluto: am I nuts?

I admit upfront to having an addiction. I am thinking about my third fatbike.

My first fatbike Pug with three wheelsets for summer and winter touring (Marge Lites, HRDs, and Rabbit Holes).

My second Fat is a single speed Gravity Deadeye that I bought as a cheap winter beater slush bike. But, now I really like riding trails with it. Simple and fun.

From what I read, everyone who has ridden a Bluto thinks that it is a game changer.

That has me dreaming of building a good quality summer trail specific single speed fat bike with a Bluto and running, say, 4 inch rubber on Marge Lites. I don't care about speed, just fun.

    Am I nut?

Should I just call the Gravity Deadeye "good enough"?

    Anyone build something like this?

Front suspension was a "game changer" in 1989. Bluto is nothing new.

Sounds to me like you already have a trail worthy ss. Two of them.

Lots of guys enjoy running rigid single speeds even with 29er's or 650b's, nevermind the extra cushion of fat tires - "game changer" is a matter of preference I think.

    Mitch,

You sound like a Fatbiker. SS on a fatty is indeed good stuff. The front suspension was eloquently summed up by Gambit. To borrow a quote from Stockli Boy...
"Single speed makes you strong, fast". And, well, it does! It's all about the fun.
