Alex. The picture of Minnewanka looks great. Was it icy up there? I'm looking at doing it just after I finish work the day after Christmas.
No not at all, just a little bit of fresh on top of well packed (at least near the trailhead). Just soft enough to make traction slightly interesting on the steep bits with stock BFLs.
Was Alpha/Crystal in good shape? Muir was absolutely ideal. I tried Greenbush on Friday, but it was so deep and sof that I couldn't go 5 feet, even with Clown Shoes and a Nate/Bud combo. I imagine Greenbush is packed down by now.

Didn't get that much snow, so it's packed and very grippy. Made for very nice riding. Shame most of the Crystal trails are essentially gone due to the work going on.
We finally got our 1st snow here in Pittsville, Pennsyltuckey!
This was the first time I had to engage the 4 wheel drive (on my truck) all the way to the trail head. I couldn't have hoped for a better 1st snow ride. Virgin snow almost all the way around my usual loop. What a blast!
