    CST Roly Poly 26 x 4.8

    Anyone had a 26 x 4.8 CST Roly Poly sighting? Depending on knob height; might be a good rear tire????

    That 26x4 CFT looks like it's got about 6lbs of tread on it

    Interesting paddle style design on that tire, though it looks questionable for a front. Don't see anything on the company website, so it doesn't appear it will be viable this season. Shame, as I'd love to see an economical 4.8 snow tire. Next season...

    From CST via email;

    The estimated weights are as follows:
    BFT fat tire - 26 x 4 - 1370g
    29 x 3 - 1231g

    (If their fatty is under $60 we will have a potential winner in my book)
    Trust me, I have a beard and gray hair.

    Looks like an Endomorph with balls. Looks like a great rear tire.

    It comes on some cheaper $400 bikes here in Thailand.

    I have been debating buying this bike to test the fat waters vs. saving up for a thru axle bike.

    I measured the knob width of this 4.8 with calipers to be 119mm wide on 100mm rims.
    This seems a much better tire than the Chaoyang 4.9 which I measured knob width at 98mm with a 115 casing but on 80mm rims.

    ..just picked up a pair from ebay for $80; not bad for 2x 4.8 tires.. interested in the paddle tread pattern mostly.

    I moved my Tsunami 4.9 up front for more float.. it has ok tread, but excels at low pressure when it flattens out.

    I'll pop back after 3-4 rides with an update...
