Question on Sram/Truvativ BB, I have an offset frame and a Howitzer triple crankset. I have to replace the BB bearings. Will the replacement cups for GXP 68/73 bottom brackets work with the 100mm spindle for my cranks?
That looks like just a bearing replacement kit for GXP.
I am pretty sure the Howitzer uses wider bearings than GXP. If the spindle size is the same, you might be able to use the whole cups from a GXP though, which would save some weight.
Should I be looking for a the Howitzer BB that is described as "100 + E 66mm chain line?" I assume the "E" is for the e type derailleur? Are the puglseys a 66mm chain line?
Yes, that is the one you need if you have Holzfeller or Husselfelt cranks made 2006 and up. the chainline on a 135mm offset by 17.5mm(pugsly) or a 170mm centered bike is ideally about 66mm.
before that, I think they were ISIS splined, so you would need an ISIS BB from any manufacturer. I think these cranks say ISIS on them. I don't theink the Howitzer ones say anything, but the Bottom bracket cups have it written on them.
