Anyone having a Lauf on the beach ???

    I love beach riding

I have ridden with steel rigid forks, suspension forks (various) and currently carbon rigid forks.

The Lauf looks like it 'might' be the perfect beach fork.

Just enough travel, maintenance free and light.

Seawater has an interesting effect on a lot of manmade devices

Are there any real life tales of properly soaked and sanded Laufs around ?

    Thanks for your help ,

Yes, Carbonara + Big Ride 15x150 hub weigh only 50 grams more than original rigid alloy fork + QR hub. I beach ride mine for over an hour at least every other day, but only since 2 weeks. I picked gloss white then added helicopter tape for more protection. Snow Shoe 2XL in front (3mm nominal clearance) and Juggernaut Pro 4.5 in back (hard tail) balance handling pretty well for me.

After tweaking 2XL pressure to minimize pedal bob and rolling resistance, I can now carry about 2 cogs higher than rigid fork on trampled sand. Even after overdoing silicone grease on crown race, much less sand accumulates on Carbonara from 2XL than do chainstays, BB and seat tube from Juggernaut.

I intend to avoid ever biking hub deep in surf.
