    3D Racing 29+ project.....it's kinda fat.

Stoked that this project is under way. Started the build process a few months ago but just been a little delayed due to fork and finalizing geometry. Here are a couple teaser pics. Will post more when there is more progress.

3D Racing, that's the dude that will take a vanilla 29er suspension fork, chop it, and make it fat, and make it look pro as all get out, if memory serves. And I think it does.

    Awesome. Subbed.

I want to see more please.

I do like what I see, and I am not afraid of riding a little bit longer chainstay bikes, but that huge pivot bearing and the bridge to the stays looks like it will have a really long wheelbase when it is done.

The chainstay is actually pretty short (for a 29+). I think it is right about 18" or just a bit under. The Krampus is 17.6" if the tire is pushed all the way forward which we all know decreases the tire clearance quite a bit. The design of the frame seems to make it look longer. It is also designed to only work with a single front ring to allow for more tire clearance. The Krampus is a bit too tight for my taste.

That color is straight out of 1986, I love it.

Thanks Schott! Was going for a bit different color. Something you don't see everyday.

I sure hope so. It has been a long wait. Should be delivered mid next week so i can get it built up. Parts in pic are from the builders bike minus the fork.

I thought there was a geometry pic in your first post but the forum seems to have lost it.
Do you have to deflate the tire to get it all the way into the chainstays?

Yeah I don't know what happened to the first pics. Guess there is a problem on MTBR because lots of pics are gone. Never posted a Geo chart though.

No need to deflate it fits no problem. Made it a little big in the clearance department just in case a bigger tire is ever released.

Finally sorted out the bike how I like it so though I would give it quick clean and post a few pics. Hope you enjoy.

    Oh this is awesome
Do you happen to have frame and complete bike weights?
Better to have and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Never weighed the frame. I was so excited to get it built that I forgot. Complete bike comes in at just under 30lbs. Not exactly light but tough to go very light with the wheelset and fork. It is also a very large frame. Kinda XXL. Doesn't ride heavy though if that really means anything.

It is also drilled for a internal routed dropped post just for fun. Post is on order but should be a fun addition to the bike. We made the frame a bit slack so it could be more of an AM bike and currently running the fork at 140mm.

Cool bike. Reminds me of my BMX days as a kid. 30 lbs with a suspension fork is not bad at all! Throw a carbon rigid on there and you would be 27-28lbs easy.

    Nice Bike!

Thanks guys. It is the only bike I want to ride right now. Sure that will change as soon as it starts snowing though.
