What is the weight of a stock Hotrock 12"?

I'm looking for a used Hotrock 12 for my 3.5 y.o. son and was wondering if anyone has measured the stock weight. Thanks!

My son's one is a 2012, aluminium frame. It weighs 7.1kg (15lbs and 10ounces?) Completely stock except it has a heavy steel Trailgator Trail-Gator Child Bike Tow Bar bracket on it.

I am surprised it is so light - it feels heavier. I suppose as my son only weighs about 29 pounds!

Yeah, could you imagine if our bikes weighed half as much as we do? That'd be crazy.

No wonder he struggles up hills really. We would have thighs like track cyclists if our bikes were so heavy.

hoffsta - just a thought, how tall is your 3.5 year old? The Hotrock 12 is small and you might be better going for a 14inch bike (or even 16)

My son has been riding his Hotrock12 since his second birthday when he was less than 33 inches tall - granted I had to run beside him because he couldn't reach the ground when he stopped! He is almost 36 inches tall now (almost 3) and probably still won't be riding the same bike in a years time.

Don't have an idea about weight, but price may be around $195.

Thanks for the replies. I found a 16" Hotrock for $35 so it looks like that's what's up!

$35 ! that's awesome! If you're gonna upgrade it, try and snap some before and after photos.

Quick update in case anyone else is searching for this info: a stock Hotrock 16 is 17.5 lbs.

I'm ready to start modding and will definitely document the process. Thanks for the help!
