Should I make an early Christmas?

Got my twins Cleary hedgehogs. They should arrive today. If it were you would you keep them until Christmas and do a big reveal, or break them out today and get them more riding time?

That's a tough call. You have other stuff for them for Christmas?

Yes, but the bikes are the big gift.

Ah, wait until Christmas. It's only a couple more weeks. I know the feeling though. I could barely contain myself last Christmas.

Post up your experience with the Hedgehog. I'm hoping my son will be big enough to go 16" by his birthday in May. Leaning towards the Hedgehog, but I keep looking at that Commencal too.

I ordered a Spesh Hotrock 20 street last night for my 7yo. The shop said it would come in next week and I asked them to hold it till Christmas. I'll put it next to the tree after the kids go to bed on the 24th. I need to change the slicks to knobbies beforehand too. I liked the 20" Cleary but he really wants gears and the Spesh is green, his favorite color. At 7, color is an important detail.

The commencal was on my short list too. My wife hated the color and the weight was an issue, although we'll see what happens to the hedgehog when I put fat tires on it.

My wife pointed out that the girls are gettimgma.lot of gifts this year including tablets from their aunt so I am thinking earlier might be better to guarantee they are excited about them. They already are good bikers and one of them is pretty into it, but still I don't want the bikes to have too much competition.

Wait, it's worth it in the end. I couldn't contain myself when I built up a mini bmx for him 2 Christmases ago, but in the end the look on his face (after all the other presents) was what made it for me.

I think waiting might be best. The bikes just arrived, but they won't make it to the trails more than 2x's before Christmas.

    Early teasers, big Christmas givers.
You should absolutely wait until christmas, unless you live in cramped conditions, can't stow the bikes in a closet and the kiddies are smart.
One thing we do in my family is have some gift opening on Christmas eve night before going to bed, but the big stuff always comes out in the morning light.

Things are pretty cramped, but we will stow them at the sister in law's house. The bikes look great. The paint seems a little soft at first blush, but time will tell. I can't wait to get my girls on them.
