    Saved 671g with tires

So I was thinking that my son weighing in at a whopping 75lbs would be fine on a lightweight race tire. I picked up some Bontrager XR0 Teams from ebay and threw them on his bike tonight. Pulled off a couple of Saquaros running tubes because I could never get them to seat using a floor pump on his DT XRC330 rims. Figured I would give these a shot at tubeless and they ended up being the easiest tires I have ever set up tubeless. Between the tires and tubes we are down a pound and a half. I figure the slightly better than semi-slick should be fine with the speeds he is running.

Impressive weight savings, these are 26", (not 24" 507mm) tires I assume? Anyone have current suggestion for a lightweight 24" tire?

I come from a cyclocross background and you can definitly still get impressive amounts of traction without heavy tread blocks, helps with both reducing weight and rolling resistence.

If you want actual knobs for some traction I say Rocket Ron or Mow Joe. I'm running a RR on the front and MJ on the rear of my son's.

I put the RoRo's on my son's bike 2.1 front and rear. He's alot more confident now that he doesn't have to worry about the tires washing out from underneath him as the stock tires did. Expensive - but great tires.
