Need advice on hotrock coaster 20

So I went to check out a bike on Craigslist that was listed as a 16 inch for$50 No pics. I drive a good distance to get there to find out the the guy listed it wrong. It was a 20 inch coaster. I really wanted the 16 as I was going to mod it like some of the others on here like demo9. Because he posted wrong info I offered 40 and I would buy it since I drove all that way. So I bought it thinking I might still be able to do something with it.

So my question is should I sell it or can I modify the same way we can modify the 16. Can I fit a 6/7 speed. Any help will be appreciated.

    I'd start with a 20" geared bike.

Yeah, I'd sell it, Shine it up a bit and re list it. I did that twice with my son's bike. until I found the one I wanted him to start on.

How tall and skilled is your kid. What is your goal for the type of riding you and he want to do? BTW, Demo9 bikes are the bomb if you do go that route!

She is 5 but really small for her age. She wants to do trail riding with me and her big brother.

I picked one up for $60, and I like it a lot. It's much lighter than the geared ones, and there's the added safety of the coaster brake. It sounds to me like it's worth keeping for a stater 20 before you do the geared one.

I think I'm going to add the low rise bar I have and let her get use to it. Then when she is ready to lose the coaster brake i do like that it has a rear v brake already. I have my old 20 inch race bike that will swap the rear wheel for the freewheel. I still might add the 3 speed. I'm guess adding the 3speed should be the same as adding it on the 16
