Cool. Never really had a thing for the leftys. They still look funny to me. Can't get used to them. Never ridden one though. What's the story? Easy mod?

Nice! I have one on my Pugsley fat bike. I haven't had a ton of experience with shock forks, just one of my bikes had a shock before(a Voodoo with a Rock Shox Judy circa 1997). And modding the Lefty to fit fat tires was pretty pricey to do but I really like the way it rides. Air suspension is very nice indeed!
I personally think they look weird too but in a badass sortof way, exactly like a fat bike should be. People do comment on the looking like it might break being one sided but I remind them that actually, one sided axles are way more common. Think car wheels, wagons, kids riding toys like Cozy Coupes, and numerous other wheeled items. Dual supported wheels are actually LESS common other than on bikes.

    Thanks guys.

The innards are a DLR2. The mod required a wheel build, spacers inside the fork to shorten the axle to crown length, a lefty adaptor, headset, and as you can see, spacers above and below the clamp.

So what turned out to be a bright idea by me became a rather complicated process. The hard part was finding a 24" rim.

    Nice.

What rim did you end up using?

You could probably run the stem under the top crown if you needed to get the bars a bit closer to their original height.
