    Khs 24

Does anyone have boys riding this and can tell if it's a good bike for an 8 years old kid:

I have no experience with this bike, but I'll be interested to hear the comments too, for my own kids.

    Looks like a decent choice.

Are you specifically looking for a disc 24 inch bike?

The Marin I bought my son is a little cheaper. I know it doesn't matter to everyone, but I liked the Marin because the chainstay is shorter. I feel like that is helping him learn to wheelie/manual easier.

They look really nice. Their street jump bike is the only one I've seen of it's kind, rear disc only, 25-9 gearing with front suspension. But yeah, I wouldn't drop $600 until jr. test rode it. As for the MTB, you know pretty much what to expect from rest riding the regular 24 mtbs. It seems to stack up with the others between the hotrock and shred 24

The main advantage is the cassette instead of a freewheel system. Other parts are less interesting, it's a good build if you don't intend to modify. IF you do modify, I would spend less on a hotrock or something to that effect and build wheels.

That aside, the cranks are a bit long at 160mm and the fork is heavy.

It should be a fine build for an 8yo, no direct experience though. I have a hard time finding a bike that a kid cannot ride well. As long as it fits, it'll be fine.

What do you think is the best fork for 24"? What is the lightest?

One of the 2 air forks choices, but not cheap at $200 or you could try to ebay a used 63mm SID.

I don't have the links, but they've been posted a few times in the family thread, try a search.

That's why as IamHolland recommended, if you're going to modify, get the cheaper specialized Hot Rock with disc tabs on the frame and build some wheels and get the air fork.

The bike looks fine. The fork probably is heavy and stiff.
    I like turtles
