My son is almost 11 and his 13.5" frame 24" wheel bike is a tad small. He is 4'8". But his sister has grown into it so I want to get him his next bike. He rode around on dirt roads on mom's 16" frame 26" wheel hardtail with the seat jammed all the way down. He could ride it, but I was wondering... is this fine? Or should I really get him on something a bit smaller for a year or so? The bike is too big. But he can road ride it for now, and grab the old bike for trail riding this fall. Then maybe next spring he might fit mom's bike better?
Mom, of course, thinks it's fine. We have so many bikes already!
I think, another reason to look for a bike! A size small adult would do the trick...
Anyone else gone through this??
