Getting ready for the start of DH/park season.

Getting ready for the start of the season. I decided to invest and try to lighten his bike up and use it for trail riding too. He has ridden it for two season going on his third. I am hoping to get 2-3 more seasons before upgrading to a 26". He is only 4'9" and I will keep him on the bike until approx 5'3".

    Here are the upgrades.

    - X Fusion Velvet RL2 DLA Forks: 110-140mm travel adjust.
    - Race Face Atlas stem
    - Race Face Next Sl Carbon Riser bars
    - Race Face Next SL seatpost
    - Deity Compound Pedals
    - ztr crest 24 wheelset w/ x9 hubs

Awaiting a new rear shock, fox float. Should be in early next week.

    Future upgrades:

    - 145 mm cranks (TBD)
    - remove chainguide and go with a clutch derailleur (1x10)
    - Set of rocket Ron tires for trail riding

Just got the rear shock (fox float) installed. The bike comes in just under 32 lbs (5 lbs saving). I still need to install/cut carbon seat post. The weight includes Kenda Nevegal DH tires 24x2.3 and dh tubes (tire weighs each at 1275 grams/2.8 lbs). I could easily shed 4-5 lbs going to Rocket Rons and tubeless. Most of our riding is dh/park for the summer, so I'll probably wait to upgrade.

I think i can shed another pound or 2, once I upgrade the cranks/cassette, remove the chainguide and go with a clutch derailleur. Should bring the bike down to 25 lbs.
