    Dirt Jump Style bike

Looking at building my 6 yearold a 20" Dirt Jump style bike. It will be used for Dirt Jumping, pump track, Rays indoor park, and a basher bike.

I want to go single speed, full ridged, rear break only, short stays, and light. Something like the little Shredder Icon but a lot cheaper.

I was thinking about starting with a mongoose Fireball or a Commencal Ramones.

    The Mongoose.
Mongoose | Fireball 20" Kids Hardtail Dirtjump Mountain Bike with Shimano Components

The bike is like 28#'s but that's with a steel fork, bars , stem and geared. I would do a carbon BMX fork and ditch all the other stuff. 20#'s easy.

    The commencal

Already single speed and weights 18#'s. This would be a better deal.

Does anyone have any other suggestions. I was thinking about doubt an 18" BMX but everyone we ride with rides MTB and dirt jump. I think he might be able to transfer that he learns on a DJ bike over to his mountain bike easier too.

I recently bought a hotrock 16 with the aim of putting an 18" bmx fok and 18" wheels on it to get some extra height and allowing it seem like a mini dirt jumper similar to the one demo9 built for Finn was a beauty!

Just have to work out the logistics of 18" wheels next.....
