    Diamondback Cobra 20 cassette/crank change?

    Cassette: 14-28T 6spd
    Crank: 40T One Piece

Not the best gearing setup for trail riding, especially if there is a hill. Trying to make it a little easier for him to ride the trails by swapping either the crank set for one that is in the 32T range or swapping the cassette out.

Found a 14-34T cassette on amazon for $12. Been having a harder time finding an inexpensive crank in the 32T range.

Which would be better (as far as making hills and such easier for him), swapping the cassette or finding a lower T crank?

Just in case anyone else was curious about this, I have finished making the upgrades to his bike. Purchased a 32T crank, 14-34T cassette and Shimano Tourney rear derailleur. Cost was a little over $30 on Amazon for all the parts and it only took about an hours worth of time to get everything on the bike.

He is loving it now. To him it is like he got a brand new bike. He is able to tackle hills and softer ground much easier. Def well worth the money and now the bike is how it should have been from the start.

Where did you get the crank? Do you have a link? I want to do the same thing to my daughters Diamondback Lustre 20".

    Thanks in advance.

I purchased it from Amazon, Amazon.com: Sunlite Chainring with Double Chain Guard, 36T: Sports & Outdoors. The bearings in the bottom bracket do not have much grease on them so I would recommend cleaning and re-packing them with grease while you have it apart.

I just realized that my link goes to a 36T and not the 32T. Cant seem to find the 32T either.... It seems like Sunlite is the main manufacture for them so I am sure you could prob find it on another site as well.
