    Caloi anyone?

My oldest daughter will be eight next month, and she's ready for a geared bike. I just can't pull the trigger ($300) on a new bike, so I've been trolling craigslist. Today, this 24" Caloi pops up for $150.

Anyone know anything about these, other than they're Brazilian?

caloi used to make folding bikes similar to Dahon and they used to be pretty good. Their older road bikes were not bad either. Most of their kids bikes have lower end shimano parts on them that are compatible with Wal-mart schwinns. If you want a decent kids bike look for a Diamondback Octane they make a boys and a girls model in 20 inch or 24 inch. You can find them at Bike shops as well as ***** and Sports authority usually for around 179.00 it will have all shimano components with suspension forks.

Thanks for the info. Just found a 2008 Trek Mtn Track 220 for $110 that looks like it's going to be her new bike.
