Peter "bucked" me to join him to clear blowdowns on Palisades last weekend because I had stashed gas and bar oil on the Ranger two weekends prior.

Sunday we divided our pack work load so Peter, the sawyer of record, carried the saw (most weight) and I took tools, and recovered stashed saw fluids.

Our dearest friend and mentor Art also made a helpful appearance.

At the shelter there was no snow. Two weeks ago it was 4' there. Bill Davis says on mid fork he's seeing 2' melt a week.

1st of Peters many this day is just above the shelter.
Or contact Boostin on these boards as he is local and was nice enough to show me around. If your in the area you should stop by and ride the trails. They have a good thing started there and I would imagine it is only going to get better.

Sunday a group of 6 of us rode up Skookum to Buck creek, then crossed over to White River, rode it down to the intersection with Palisades, then rode the route in reverse. A light rain fell most the day but mud was very minimal and there wasn't a single downed tree blocking the trails. Nice work by those who keep the trails clear!

Trail conditions were nearly ideal and bugs were very minimal. It's a perfect time to get out and enjoy the area! The out and back route was did was just under 18 miles and took about 2.5 hours with lots of stops to check out the scenery! Since it is still early the falls and all the rivers were quite impressive. Much better than what you see in the middle of summer.
