Although I love the power of disc brakes, I would kill for the measured approach of wheel truing from rim brakes. The whole "bend it until its mostly straight" approach to rotors is driving me mad.

I have the Park rotor tool and always seem to do more harm than good, regardless of how hard I try.

I can't believe there isn't a better way.....I guess trying the Morningstar multiple tool approach is my next option.

Anyone have any good "tricks" to getting the rotor straight?

I'm looking to replace my old EA30 (single bolt) seatpost with an EA50 w/ the double bolt. Anyone have any experience w/ this post? I looked on the review section, but all of them were using the single bolt design (which I know sucks from experience)......

I may just be search engine retarted but I can not find anything specifically discussing what to look for when determining if your fork seals need to be replaced. Does anybody have info on this? The reason I ask is that I just purchased a used SID XX Worldcup that was never actually used. It seems to work great, but in the interest of being OCD and wanting a well maintained fork I'd like to be able to determine if it needs a service or new seals, etc... Outside of it not working at all, I probably wouldn't notice a difference.....

Thanks!

I have always used an RSS feed to watch the forums without needing to go through my browser. Good...

I have always used an RSS feed to watch the forums without needing to go through my browser. Good for work or anywhere you don't particularly want to be going to the internet.

A lot of email products and desktop apps support RSS feeds.

Here is the FAQ regarding RSS from MTBR: http://forums.mtbr.com/faq.php?do...l=&titlesonly=0

Essentially you can get the new posts rss feed by entering into your RSS browser: http://forums.mtbr.com/external.php?type=rss2

You can get specific forums by using that previous like with the following appended: http://forums.mtbr.com/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=123

the 123 in the above example is the forum number which is part of the link to your forum of choice. To get the number you will need to right click on the forum page and select "view page source" Then you will need to find the following code:

script type="***************" src="http://forums.mtbr.com/clientscript/vbulletin_global.js?v=387">

script type="***************" src="http://forums.mtbr.com/clientscript/vbulletin_menu.js?v=387">

link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Mtbr Forums RSS Feed" href="http://forums.mtbr.com/external.php?type=RSS2" />

link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Mtbr Forums - Passion - RSS Feed" href="http://forums.mtbr.com/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=44" /

In this case around line 326.

44 is your forum Id number.

Hope that helps if anyone is interested.

seems to be quite a few options for mt biking up there..looking for any trail/destinations that might be appropriate given these considerations:

me: experienced rider, downhill, CX, technical is great.

my wife: small bit of mountain biking, in great shape condition-wise, just not proficient on technical rides/trails.

So i guess what i'm looking for are some intermediate trails, not super gnarly ones...
Appreciate any suggestions!

It is bike to work week and my 1st and 3rd grade kids wanted to ride their bikes to school.

We live 2.5 miles away, two busy streets need to be crossed. We did it. The kids easily climbed a very steep and long hill I was worried about. The boys were incredibly proud to wheel up to school in view of their friends.

The adults we saw upon arrival at school were amazed. They couldn't seem to wrap their minds around the fact that someone biked to school. The administrators were positively pleased that the boys had done so, they thought it remarkable (that was cool).

I realize I've made an error by not riding with them to school much earlier and intend to do so often in the future. I will ride with them to school, my wife can ride home with them until we feel comfortable with them riding alone.

When I was kid people riding bikes to school was not remarkable nor even a distinguishing characteristic.

This morning introduced me to a wide array of thoughts, feelings and ideas.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Johnny and Intense for helping me out with my 2011 Tazer VP FRO problem.

I couldn't get the shock in the lower short travel hole on the link, as it would hit the seattube. I e-mailed Intense and got a quick response. After e-mailing a few pics of the problem, I was told they would make me a new link.

It arrived yesterdya in the post, totally different design, shock hardware spacing is alot less wide, and the link has more material at the sides to make it stiffer

New bolts too. Took the old link out, new one in, new hardware in lower shock mount(all suplied by Intense, THANKS!) took less then 15 minutes to fit it all, now she is perfect and I can run the shock where I want it.

Great customer service, this is how it should be everywhere, keep up the good work!!!!!
