That's CNN? I thought it was the Little Miss Springfield pageant.

They can go pound sand.
The first year of EWS was a huge success w/o them getting involved.
Let them focus on the Eliminator they love so much and no one gives a sh!t about.

15mm is a second-best solution to a problem that was already solved.

I don't know, they certainly have been a driving force in pharmaceutical 'innovation'
I encouraged by the way most mountain bikers seem to just want the UCI out of our sport altogether.

Does this mean we can buy yellow MTB jerseys now?

I think this is Cookson's way (in the short term at least) of side stepping McQuaid's last big idea about penalising pro riders for daring to enter non-UCI affiliated events.
British Cycling under his command has been pretty open about letting events that don't fit UCI standardised rules have BC backing (and by extension UCI affiliation) including the UK's various Enduro series, Italy, France and Germany are much the same, their Enduro series already have official backing even if they aren't UCI events.
I can't see the EWS getting derailed now, all the European events already qualify as 'official' so when Rule 1.2.019 comes in January it won't be a problem for the big names here, which leaves just the US/Canadian events and riders.
If 'Enduro' is a recognised format, then people like USAC have no excuse when it comes to denying small series or events official recognition, of course the sticking point with USAC will be how much money they want to sting these events for, because always money.
