BME Series 2014 : 5-day enduro in Crested Butte

    June 21-22 - Snowmass
    June 28-29- TBD (in Colorado)
    July 12-13 - Keystone
August 23 - Moab (one day only?)
    September 3-7 - Crested Butte 5-day enduro

    More about CB: http://www.icontact-archive.com/BLhG..._EDQ1GbbJW?w=1

They say there will be nearly 20,000 feet of CLIMBING over the five days. I guess that will rule out the DH rigs.

Super stoked on the 5 day event and really want to try and make that one. Hopefully they give advance signups to the people who have done Moab again.

Excited for the BME series this year but not sure I'm ready to shell out close to $600 for the Crested Butte event alone. Between the increased price for all BME events, gas, bike parts, extra lift tickets, hotels, food, etc., I'm looking at a pricy summer spent racing. I'm sure it will be an amazing experience - Crested Butte is the best and it sounds like it's pretty inclusive, but it might not be feasible this year.
Just curious- how many of you are budgeting for this?

If anyone is curious about the TBD location, I recommend searching the event at IMAthlete. No guarantee this is true but super interesting.

On pricing - I forget - what was it last year? $150?

Last year was $150.00 a race and a season pass was like $600 or so. Prices went up this year but with the discount code might even out. I want to race Snowmass and Moab. I have only raced XC and cyclocross. The learning curve is going to be really steep this year. TBD sounds wicked cool but will be in CA that weekend.

BME isn't cheap, but to me its a pretty good deal compared to other "similar" races:

Trans-Provence, 6 days: $2,000+ (all meals paid, tent/pad provided, airport pickup)

BC Bike Race - 7 Days: $ 1,700 (early slots sold out in a minute), $2100 (tent, meals provided)

Breck-Epic - 6 days: $1,000 (camping extra, meals extra) also, while a fun event, the "enduro" is just a XC race with strava segments, so its not really comparable IMHO.

    CB - 5 days: $595 (Breakfast/lunch inc, lodging extra.

Personally, I'm really excited to have this type of event in the Rockies and I'll be racing.

It does seem like a great deal. I would expect the prices to go up significantly in the future as it gains popularity.
