    Wilderness101 results

Has anybody heard who won the Wilderness 101? I checked the website and they didn't have any results posted yet.

He finished in around 7 hours and 20 some mins. About 30 mins off of Chris Eatough 's record from last year when it was much cooler (~15 F) and the trails were drier.

A new record time for a tandem finish was set and for the first time somebody finished on a fixed gear bike.

This was an awesome race. It was my first 100 miler off-road and my goal was to finish in daylight. I made it without needing lights, but just barely. I can't wait to go back and ride some of the sweet singletrack with some friends over a long weekend. I learned a lot about myself and my bike during this ride and I am already thinking about how to improve for next years race. If anyone is considering trying a 100 mile race I would definately reccomend this one. The course was very well marked. The people at the aid stations were very helpful and encouraging. The trails were the best part though. The fire roads seemed long at places, especially on the climbs, but the singletrack made up for it.

Thanks for the tech assistance with the photo. As you can tell from photo, I really "leaned out" for the race. Did not get a chance to say "hi" on Sat night. I've got to party with you some time, maybe Shenandoah, I am trying to get my papers signed. Good luck in TR. -Brett

I'll definitely be up for some recreation after the SM100. I don't have anything big coming for awhile after that so I might have to let loose a little.

At least you weren't doing this:
