I know a bunch of people who DNS'd because we got some weather on the course the day/night before. I don't understand it either, but that's one big reason. It's one thing to climb 14,000 feet in one day, quite another to do it in the rain with some REALLY sloppy parts of the course. The vast majority of it was better-than-dry but the bad parts were just terrible, like last year.
Weather (besides the rain) was amazing again this year.
I thought the course was fantastic and much better shape than last year. The only bad portion was between Braileys Pond Dscent and Aid Station 4. That was a mud bog. It needs to be rerouted to go by the the lake. I was amazed how dry Chestnut was.
"And I shout that your all fakes and you should have seen the look on your face"
I thought the course was great this year except of the mud/swamp at the bottom of Braileys. The regrading of the top of the death climb to get rid of the giant puddles made a huge difference. Seems like a major lack of photos from this years race. Has anyone found any?
