I've got a short 19 hour drive. I'm sure we will see each other, I rode with you at Cohutta. Did you ever get those brakes fixed?

Ha, no still going ghetto with a broccoli strap. But it's a NEW broccoli strap Brakes themselves are fixed but still need to get a new lever since the spring is pooched. Our drive will be around 21 hours. Leaving early Thursday morning. Can't wait to ride the Black Hills, visit Deadwood and Mount Rushmore!!!

    What's the climbing like?

Coyote Gulch... we're heading to Boulder after the race on Monday. You from around there? Any advice to where to ride? We were thinking of doing this:

This time of year especially, skip Boulder and head to the hills. The high-country riding is just about fully open. Big loops available all over summit county- check conditions thread in Front Range forum.

I don't ride in Boulder at all actually. I agree, the high country is great. The trails in Breckenridge and Winter Park are fantastic. Closer to Denver are the Jefferson County open space parks. White Ranch, Centennial Cone, and Mt. Falcon are excellent options (http://jeffco.us/parks/parks-and-venues/ ), but there are many options. The Buffalo Creek area, about 45 minutes from Golden, is fantastic as well (Buffalo Creek Mountain Bike Trail in Pine, Colorado || SINGLETRACKS.COM ) (Buffalo Creek Trails | International Mountain Bicycling Association ).

Check the trail review section of MTBR for more details.

Well, not what I had hoped for from a performance stand point, but a great well run race on a fantastic course, and I would recommend it to everyone.

I broke my front derailleur at mile 25, blew out a sidewall and broke my rear derailleur at mile 80. Went from riding a sub 10 hour, to walking and coasting the last 25 miles, and finishing at 13.5, but I still wasn't last...

Congrats to everyone who rode it.

So you went from a 3x10 to a 1x10 to 0x0? I helped you finally remove your front deraileur at CP3, I hate to hear that you had more trouble after that.
I clipped a hidden rock with my pedal around 22 miles in and had a rough crash. I ended up knocked out for a bit, broke my thumb and bruised some ribs so no finish for me. The trails were fantastic though and I'll be back

It's a quality race, in a beautiful part of the country few beyond the RV crowd seem to visit (well, and the harley pilgrims)...
