    very interesting!

16,000 feet of climbing??? ouch. that must be lots and lots of little hills.

if i can get a buddy to drive down with i will try my best to make it.

you guys gonna have time cutoff's n stuff? i am not so quick and would probably need 11-12 hours to finish this beast.

There will be a cutoff. It hasn't been fully decided yet, but there is rumblings that it will be something like 13.5 hours.

    Out.

Already registered for Dirt Rag's Dirtfest in Hesston, PA.
Trying to compete with an established event is an oversight.

Went to bikereg.com link, no date was listed other than registration date end of on 5/17.
(edit) Now see date listed as July 7th - please forgive my mistake, it promises to be a fun race.

Hmm, still not seeing it. Did you go to https://www.bikereg.com/Net/18308 ?

Reg opens on March 17th, is that what you saw maybe? Either way, didn't know about dirt rag! I'm going to look into that.

Also, I am not the event organizer, just a local to the race passing along info from guys I have heard talking about it.

    amd,

There is a link on the registration site for Strava, it took a guy 5 hours to complete one 33 mile lap. Since you are a local, could this be right? If so, how can anybody make the 13.5 hour cutoff? Any info that you could provide before registration opens would be great. Thanks.

No I don't think it would take that long. I believe that guy was doing some course maintenance as well. As I understand it, it is thought that the winners will go under nine hours.

It took me 14 hours to do the SM100 a few years back, and I quit at mile 88. The climbing was absolutely brutal. As long as the climbs arent long, with tons of hike a bike sections, it should be doable in 13.5 hours.

I am SO excited about this race. Too bad we JUST moved away from there. Patapsco is such a fun place, but without any long hills there isnt much time for rest.. going to hurt for sure!

Hmmm... interesting. I have a trail marathon in Aspen, CO the week before but I love these trails! Would be a great double header to do the trail 26.2 then a 100 mile MTB to celebrate my midweek birthday on the 3rd.

    Hmmm.... tempting!

Sounds like an awesome race...too bad it's in the People's Republik of Maryland.

    I'll sit this one out.

NEW 100 miler in Maryland ---- PATAPSCO 100

I just want to get info on how this 33mile loop flow from start to finish. What's the ave speed and duration per 33miles . 100 miler on a loop system is harder compared to a regular 100miler.
