Mohican 100k or 100 miles? What say you?

My wife and I are looking to do this race, since we can't make it down to Ouachita. What is everyone's thoughts on distance?

Does the 100 miler have any extra single track, or do they just beat you into submission with rail trail/gravel roads? If it's the latter, 100k sounds more entertaining.

    Thanks!

The 100 is about 60/40. Dirt road to trail. The dirt roads are the killer, the trail sections are awesome.

I say do the 100k and try the 100 miler next year if you want more.

I did the 100 miler 2 years ago. Heading back for just the 100k this year.

My biggest memories from after the 100 k cut-off till the route joined back was a 15 mile section of rail trail and some pretty killer gravel road climbs. I only recall a couple small sections of trail. To me, it seemed like the 100 k had almost all of the fun stuff, the extra 60 km was primarily there to get it to 100 miler status.

At the time, I wanted to say I rode a 100 miler. With that crossed of my list, a 5 hr day with higher % of trail is more my idea of a good day on the bike now.

I just signed on to the 100K. Im going with 3 buddies who are all doing the 100m. I think I should of done the hundo with them, but this will be my first endurance event besides the BT Epic. Ive heard great things about this event, looking forward to it. Got 4 months to train!

I'm in for the 100k. Did it last year as well. The 100 miler is mostly extra road, and some rail trail. You do get a little bit of extra trail, at Mohican wilderness. Not enough for me to want to ride a 100 miles though.. My plan is get done early and enjoy the free beer..

How far away are you? If you have to travel a ways, might as well spend some extra time on the bike too. The 100 mi does have a mind and leg numbing rail trail section in the middle, but most 100 milers have something like that.
