    Marathon Nationals

Did I miss the coverage of Marathon Nationals? Or does everyone hate USAC and not care?

Who won? How was Sun Valley's course?

Anyone attend this event or know the scoop?

Twenty-one national titles awarded at Marathon MTB Nationals - USA Cycling

Two guys I race against ended up on the Nats Podium. Makes me feel better about getting my arse handed to me by them I guess...haha.

Course was just the amateur xc loop from xc nats last year... twice. It was a little short to be considered "Marathon XC" in my opinion, but nevertheless hard. Coming to SV is always nice though, here's my writeup Clint Claassen: 2013 Marathon MTB National Championships - Sun Valley, ID

Hmmm, maybe a little.....I think mainly because it was two of the exact same 25-ish mile loops. Whereas last year in Bend, had a course that never really looped over itself for the majority of it's length (you just had to ride a few fireroad sections in opposite directions to link distinct parts of the course together).

That being said, I still enjoyed it, and with the exception of running a rigid fork, I really liked it.

I agree since it was a double loop it made it a little monotonous, especially since the climb was just a steady slog with nothing really to break it up. The DH part was fun though. Also there was a little "been there, done that" since it was just the same as one of the xc nats courses from last year for those who'd been there before.

When I think of "marathon xc" I usually think of some big long loop or point to point. Not laps just to get mileage... and then ending up only being 3hrs anyway...
