Looking for a Sept endurance race in midwest

My Sept calendar just changed, and I'd like to try something new. I was going to do the Crank The Shield 3-day race north of Toronto, but it can't happen now.

I'm looking for something fun to try in the midwest...12hrs from Toronto/Buffalo is about my range, and mid-Sept is ideal. What are the midwest options? Anywhere from Wisconsin over to Vermont, and a bit south works for me.

Check out FunPromotions.com for some Endurance races in Michigan. I've been to a few and they're always a blast.

The Dakota 5-0 in Spearfish South Dakota was one of the best put on races I went to last year. It easily earned its spot in my "every year guarantee" list of races. Check them out: http://www.dakotafiveo.com/ 50 miles and close to 6,000 feet of climbing (mostly in the first half) equates to a grueling but fun 50 miler.

Otherwise 24 hr at Seven Oaks in Boone Iowa is good...brutal but good. There is a 3/6 hr there this weekend if you want a "warm up".
    If not bikes then what?
I work in a shop and that influences my opinions.

A second vote for the Revenge of the Rattlesnake in Davis WVA. One of the best endurance races I have participated in.
