    COOLEST 24 - solo 8

Riding solo for 24 hours is insane. My first 8 hr solo effort yesterday was very cool. It would have been more fun perhaps to hang out with other people on a team, but I found the test of my stamina very satisfying. Attachment 259328

Attachment 259330I brought lots of stuff just incase, but found that
Hammer nutrition Sustained Energy (tastes like crap) works great, plus Hammer gels, and GU 2o between laps did the trick. Plus ate heaps of plain spaghetti noodles and lots of water. gu20.JPG

12 mile loop with 1400' of climbing; 6 laps, 72 miles and over 8,000' ft on a singlespeed 29er was all I had in the tank. Attachment 259336
Was a little rough rolling out of bed the next day. I know I need more training before trying this again, but not that bad for 48 years old ?
