Colorado Endurance races 50 miles or less?

I'm road tripping going to Colorado (with my bike!) to visit my brother next summer and am flexible on the dates. I'm going to do a week of riding around the state and would like to hit an endurance race while there. I'm looking for something in the 3-5 hour finishing time range so that I have plenty of energy to ride throughout the week. So far I know of the Steamboat Stinger & Firecracker 50. Any other good options out there?

Bailey now has a 50, Breck has a 32 and 68...check out the Epic Series at Winter Park and the Rocky Mountain Endurance Schedule.

Co has some of the best events in the Nation, unfortunately many are in the +5 hour range unless you are a top pro. But if you are on vacation, why care how tired it makes you?

I often goto events in other places and stay after to ride more trails, I can go as hard as I want on race day, and then ride new trails with tires legs as a tourist not worrying about cleaning everything, or riding at peak performance.

You might have a look at:

A tentative calendar for MTB races in CO for 2014

as a start. The aforementioned races are listed there.

There is also the 2014 Endurance Race Calendar if that's of interest.

All the stages of the Breck Epic are under 50 miles.

You may also look at 40 In the Fort... 2014 date is late June. Details about the race can be found at: 2013 "40 in the Fort" - Annual Endurance Mountain Bike Race | Overland Mountain Bike Club.

All races mentioned are great events I'm sure, but not too many people will dispute that the Firecracker is the grandaddy of them all.

The Silver Rush race in Leadville is an option.

RE: Colorado Endurance races 50 miles or less?

Check out warriorscycling.com. IMHO Breckinridge race is the best followed by PV. Looks like the Keystone race isn't on which is a shame. 3 distances to choose from at each race.

This year there was also a 50 miler at winter park . Hopefully they'll do that again in 2014.

Thanks all! I did the Breck Epic this past summer and it was awesome, so I'm looking forward to more of what CO has to offer

I live in Breckenridge and we have some awesome races. Breck Epic (if you're here for multiple days), Firecracker (already mentioned), Fall Classic in early september, and a local race series put on by Welcome to MavSports.com every other Wednesday during the summer. I guess it depends where you are and I know some of the other mountain towns have their own local race series as well.
