Recently completed a 50 mile endurance MTB race in Utah. The trail was mostly new and therefore quite rough. During the last 15 miles or so I was experiencing some significant pain on the bottoms of my feet. Not hot spots but more like a bruised feeling. This pain definitely cost me time and slowed me down, so I'm looking for remedies for future races. I've done other 50 milers without trouble, but I think the continuous rough trail with no break really did me in on this one.
I'm thinking insoles maybe? Gel? Another option could be to change my cleat position rearward some? What have you guys done to combat this?
