I did all the course marking and was "course manager" race day. I ended up driving the broom wagon down to the Como aid station and we brought your bike back. It was pretty funny the back and forth on the radio once we got back into range (the radios don't work at all in Como and you can only text with phones).
Base: "Do you have a black Scott plate #---- in the van?"
Me: I'm not sure, we have a bunch of people and bikes in the van and it's dark back there".
Base: We want to confirm you have bike #-----. It was from one of the guys who got evacuated from aid 7".
Me: "Can any of you guys back there tell if we have plate #-----"
Guys back there: "I dunno, it's a black Scott? It's dark back here and there's a bunch of bikes leaning against each other"
Me: What plate # are you guys we picked up?"
Guys we picked up: Plate #? I don't know what my # is"
One of the sweepers: "Dude, you just drove past an arrow."
(Hit the brakes, back up, pull arrow and ribbon, throw in van)
    Me to Base: Stand by"
Me to Base: We can't read the damn plate numbers on the bikes but I'm 100% sure we didn't leave any bikes behind.
Base: Copy that but confirm if you can.
Me: We're letting the sweepers out at the Tank Trail and we'll be able to tell for sure but I'm sure we have it.

We had the bike of course.

Right-on! Thank you for getting my bike back- already sent huge thanks to SAR crew through Thane. Still haven't been able to put the whole story together- but I got knocked the **** out and was "out" for several hours. Bits and pieces but I lost a good 3 hours or so that I'll never likely remember.
