What is an 08 epiphany worth?

    Hi,

I have been looking to get into a full suspension bike to upgrade from my current hardtail. I was at a lbs and was looking at a Giant Trance x2. I have a budget of $3k. The owner said he is selling his personal bike for $3,300.

    The specs are:

    08 epiphany frame
    fox float 140
    rp23 rear
    xtr cranks
ritchey carbon wca stem, seatpost, and bars
    magura Marta sl brakes
    x0 grip shift
    x0 rear derailer
    mavric crossmark slr wheels
    chris king headset

So clearly the parts spec is way above the slx build of the trance x2. But what is the Ellsworth worth? The bike is fairly clean with minimal scratches. Any help would be appreciated.

$1700? The frame itself is probably worth around that... If it's all in good condition, i'd offer him $2800...

True its four years old... But a brand new epiphany with an XTR setup is running $6500. If its in good shape with all the quality components listed, i think a little less than half the price of a new bike sounds about right... Sounds like your buddy got a killer deal on his 2010... Too bad there isn't a Kelley Blue Book for bikes...

Well I went to another shop that ha a brand new epiphany frame from 09. He wanted 2k for just the frame then probably 800 for the fork. So to build it up new is ~5k. I figured 2500-2800 seems like that's comparable from craigslist. I just wanted to see if anyone on here has purchased anything similar recently and what would be fair.

Are the wheels crossmark or crossmax? that makes a big difference in the value of the bike. If its crossmax SLR i would say 2800 is about right (especially if its well taken care of). A few hundred less for crossmark.

I actually did not purchase this bike. I decided to go for a Trek Fuel Ex instead.
