I'm setting up this new thread for the Rogue owners and I borrowed the setup format from Trail Advent's data base threads. Once owners have posted here I will ask our moderator, Trevor!, to make this a link that can be accessed within the "Es Setup, Data Base, FAQ" sticky thread.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rogue setup data base (All Mountain, 6-7-8 inch rear travel)
Rogue owners to post! Potential owners to view & compare, gain insight etc!
Also "no flames please" you can do that on other posts or create a new one if you need to vent, this is an information data base to assist not to attack or hinder, so hopefully we will get some great info.
Use the link creator to your pics if posted elswhere on the E board helps speed things up
I predict that Deus crank set on Septentrion's bike is not going to last long.
Because of the product quality or because of it's intended use?
I've been running XC cranks for a long time (XT, RF Next LP, FSA carbon). I've subjected them to freeride conditions normally reserved for beefier cranks and I've never bent or broken an arm and the bearings last as long as they should (knock on wood). I've toned down the freeriding this season (crashing hurts), and feel more than comfortable on carbon cranks, even though I'm still riding rough trails and doing some light freeride.
I think the abuse given to a crank set is largely depended on riding style. If you are riding tech trails/DH and some light freeride, and don't ride like a goon, light cranks (especially with the larger external bearings) do just fine.

I destroyed a set of Deus cranks in less than a season on my Id. And I ride like an old crippled geezer--maybe because I am one.
I'm now on the next beefier Race Face cranks and they're holding up fine. Race Face says the Deus is for XC racing only.
Are you still planning on coming out to Jackson Hole?
Hi,
I'm back from a week in les 2 Alpes France and so far my Deus is Ok.
I just destroyed the DT 5.1 rims too light and replaced them by 729 Mavic far better.
I'll also replace the 36 Van by a RS Totem ASAP in order to raise the BB a bit cause I hurt the ground with pedals too often and I can say know that a 170-180mm fork is much more appropriate to the Rogue as it is mentionned on Ells site. The BB height with a 36 is 335mm wich is definitely too low.
Hi,
The BB height with a 36 is 335mm wich is definitely too low.
What size shock/travel mode are you running? The Ells website is claiming a 13.9" (or 350mm) BB height in 7" mode and a 7" fork, and a 14.75" (375mm) height in 8" mode w/ 8" fork. I thought I remember reading that you are running in 8" mode, so I would expect your BB height to be plenty high, even with the 36.
I'm curious because I am entertaining the idea of building a Rogue next year with a lightweight build similar to yours to up the ante from my Moment. I was planning on doing it with a Cane Creek Double Barrel since they make a size that can give the 8" mode geometry, but have the 7" of actual travel. I wanted to do that because I want the shorter travel but I don't want the BB to drop too far with the smaller shock. I also have a Fox 36, so I'm interested in your experiences with your set up. Thanks!
Hi, I have a DHX 5, 8.75 x 2.80, (the same as LiorDrZ)
The Van is more a 6.3" (160mm) fork, indeed with a 7" you should reach 350mm in BB height. , maybe LiorDrz could help and give us its BB height with a 66.
Someone called me?? very long time since I've been here...
My BB height with the zucchi 66 is 355mm
Wow! I am shocked and amazed at how low the BB's are. I never realized how much of a factor the fork height is in BB height.
I'm getting pretty stoked on a Rogue frame w/ a Double Barrel (8.75"x2.5") for the ideal geometry and travel. I'll probably just move all of my Moment parts over, and end up with a 33lb build. I rode the Rogue w/ a 36 at interbike last fall, and hoping to again next month. It felt really good then, but I'll have a better comparison after riding my Moment for a season. The test ride will be the ultimate deciding factor.
Ahhh, these damn machines. How come I just can't be happy with what I have? Always gotta have more
Damn right, and a 350mm bb height mini will be fine for me (Thanks for info), hell of a cost too for 2 cm... But the Totem will be awesome in galvanized on a black Rogue
What size is the rear wheel spacing on a Rogue. I think I read somewhere that it was 135mm with a 12 mm thruaxle. Is this correct? Would I be able to use my Mavic Deemax wheels? My Deemax currently has a QR rear, but can be switched for a bold-on rear. Thanks.

That´s right, the 200 mms version uses a 135 x 12 hub,
