    New Moment

My new 08 Moment frame arrived a few days ago. Here's a pic of the frame. I'm dropping it off at my LBS tomorrow for a parts swap from my 06 Moment. Here's what I'm looking at running so far:

    08 Ellsworth Moment - med
    07 Fox 36 TALAS RLC
    08 XTR Crankset
    08 XTR Pedals
    06 SRAM X-Gen FD
    06 SRAM XO RD
    06 SRAM X9 trigger shifters
    Thomson Elite seatpost
    Thomson Elite stem
    Chris King headset
Chris King / Mavic 819 wheels
    Easton EA-70 27" riser bar
Hope Mono Mini brakes with 7" rotors F/R

I'll post completed pics in a few days.

    She's a Beaute. Congrats.

Be sure to give a review comparing the '06 to the '08.

    Thanks

I just dropped the frame off at my LBS. The frame weighed 7.56 lbs with the seat collar. I think my 06 Moment frame was about 8 lbs even, so the new frame seems a tad lighter. I decided to change a few components as well. So, the new bike will be getting an 08 XTR front derailleur and an 08 SRAM XO trigger shifters. It should be ready later today or sometime tomorrow

    Initial pics

I picked up the 08 Moment from the LBS today. I didn't get a chance to ride it yet, but it looks sweet. It is a little lighter (weighed 30.95lbs on my digital scale), but definitely no lightweight. Here are a few initial pics from my family room (obviously Casey, my yellow lab, wasn't too impressed). I'll get better pics outside in the daytime. I can't wait to hit the trails. But, unfortunately, I'm on call this weekend. So, it may be a couple of weeks before it sees dirt

Very nice indeed, the Moment is an all time classic frame, very adaptable and trail worthy.... Be interesting to hear the differences you find in the 06 to o8 frmaes...

    ENJOY

Yang, are you using a steelset? Just wondering. My thinking is that for trail riding and small stunts it's not needed.

    p.s. Moment looks killah

No Steelset. I'm running a regular threadless aluminum CK headset.

Is there any significance for you with the "Project Pink" finish?

I have friends that have battled breast cancer, so I think it's a worthy cause. Plus, it's a cool color!

    Better pics

Here are a few daytime pics that are a little better quality. Now, I just have to find time to ride before I can give a ride report.

Pink nipples on the wheels! Nice touch! I think the pink looks good with the black and gray on the rest of the bike.

    Looks beautiful yangpei !

    I really like the colour.

    Congratualtions !

Ohhh... you should get the 08 36 Talas as it's a bit lighter
(but the 09 36 should be out soon....)

I have the Hope pink Mono Minis on my Epiphany and Seven Sola, but they only come in 6" rotors. I felt that I wanted 7" rotors on the Moment, so have stayed with the stock Mono Minis.

As for the ti coil, I'm not sure how it would work on a DHX Air? I would love, however, to find a ti coil for my Rogue's DHX Coil
