Looking at Ellsworth frames for my next build, but..
I find that the names, model years and intended use can be a tad hard to get a grip on. Can anyone help?
Normally I just go to a manufacturers website, but what I found on Ellsworthbikes.com was more or less just a salespitch with little added info.
My current bike park consists of a CFR Scalpel and a fatbike, I'm looking to purchase a frame and build it into something that can handle rougher trails where I'm afraid to crash my carbon xc machine.
The Ellsworth Moment SST1 frame I've been looking at appear to fit the bill with alot of travel and what appears to be a very active suspension, but as mentioned above finding more info, prices and even what SST1 and SST2 means is hard.
For the last several days their website has been down while they are in the process of redoing it for 2014 bikes. Once it's back up you'll be able to answer most of your own questions. For the models I've looked at, SST2 differs from SST1 b/c it has a tapered head tube.
Vegard, grbadave is correct , the difference between the SST and SST-2 is the tapered headtube , the SST is no longer available , but the SST-2 is . Here is a link to a page that explains the ICT suspension Ellsworth Handcrafted Bikes and here is a link to the Ellsworth Web store for pricing Ellsworth Web Store - if you have anymore question please email firstname.lastname@example.org
