    How often to replace bearings?

I've been riding my Id hard for over a year now and the pivot bearings are still nice and smooth. But how often does one replace these? How often have you been greasing them? I really haven't done any maintenance on them but I'm thinking I should at least grease them by now.

Anybody have a regular maintenance program you perform that includes the bearings?

Why would I need more than one gear?

What is that? It's usually hard enough to find the time to get in 2 rides per week. Last Tuesday night (before Wed nights ride) at midnight I was installing Goodridge brake lines and bleeding brakes
    Nothing to see here.
