Fox DHX 5.0 - Large Moment info

I called Fox today and they confirmed Ellsworth's recommendations for spring rates. The stock 500# spring is good for up to about 170 pound riders. My riding weight is 205-210# and Fox (and Ellsworth) recommend a 600 pounder for me.

Fox says they don't have the springs, but should soon. My bike is due late this month, and they said to call them to order when it arrives.

The shock size is 7.875 X 2.25 and both the inner and outer spring diameters are different than for their current shocks, so a specific spring will be needed.

    Shock weight

I weighed my shock when I had it off the bike to change the spring.

DHX 5.0 shock without spring: 428 grams

    500# x 2.35 coil: 386 grams

    600# x 2.35 coil: 420 grams.
{Principal Skinner} Hmm. Whoever did this is in very deep trouble.
    {Martin} And a sloppy speller too. The preferred spelling of 'wiener' is w - i - e - n - e - r, although 'e - i' is an acceptable ethnic variant.
