Following the Lemmings over the cliff

So I joined the shock of the month club, and ordered an RP3 for my Id. I am reasonably sure that next month when the new Cane Creek Cloud Nine Super, with plasma damping comes out, you all will tell me what a dolt I am for owning such an archaic rear shock. Such is life on this board. Jim

I'm thinking about following you over. I've read at least one good report of the RP3 on an Id. I would be interested in a report after you put it on.

I believe Steve from JH has both the custom valved Float R and the RP3 and seems to think the RP3 isn't worth the upcharge. You might call Ellsworth to see if you can get the Float R.

    Hey Squeak, SSINGNA
I'm going to try my DHX for the first time today (not on a Moment though)

Anything I should be mindful of, I mean besides the minimum boost pressure and the imfamous "clunck"?
Faster is better, even when it's not.

Wow!...And I thought Romics were all the rage!

...You know you (me) are content when you not only don't recognize the name of the shock, you can't tell the name of the manufacturer, or even if it's a coil or air shock.

Check your PM unless you are already on the trail.

The stock custom valved Float R that came with my Id and the aftermarket RP3 in the minus setting seem to perform almost exactly the same. And that performance is quite nice.

Now that winter's here I'll be riding almost entirely with studded tires on packed snow and ice covered roads. The RP3 in the plus setting along with the TALAS with the compression knob turned on full make for a good firmly suspended road bike that you can pedal out of the saddle with minimal bob.

I going to put a DHX on my Joker & 5spot, but first I have to wait for the Romics to blow out. Waiting and waiting, could have to wait for couple more years and by than mountain biking will be completely outlawed.
