    Ellsworth at Sea Otter

    Alright, here it is.

Ellsworth rips, straight up. The booth is perfect. Bikes. Ride em. What more is there?

I enjoyed Sea Otter and all the fluff, but the dusty real edge of the Ellsworth booth and its crew made my day.

Rogue Rider X thanks for the headbadges!!

Get to Laguna boys....you won't regret it

    Test rides?

Seems like the same frame in every pic. I'm wondering how far out production is? Did anybody get a chance to wheel around on one for a bit, or only Bender in Tony's backyard?

Seems like a whole lot of attention was put into form, and very little on function, like 1.5HT, ICGS mnts, thru axle rear, larger volume shock, and increasing travel and standover. Bring the Moment even closer to the FR side.

i didnt hear anything about increased travel? what amount did you hear?

    the email i received was....
"Ellsworth rider Josh Bender has been field testing The New Moment at
Ellsworth's California factory and will be on hand at Sea Otter as well. The
New Moment retains its classic geometry and incorporates a new flowing
design exploding with additional improvements making this world class free
ride, all mountain bike part of The Ellsworth Advantage:
Upper linkage is stiffer, lighter & sleeker
NEW dual formed asymmetrical chain stays. Increased mud & tire clearance are
yours along with additional crank clearance
    Stand over height is lowered
Increased frame stiffness from newly formed, aircraft grade tubes."

Same awesome ICT linkage, with the same 6" of zero energy loss suspension.
Its not the brand of the wand that matters, but the skill of the magician. (Make no mistake tho, your brand does suck butt.)

These improvements you seek are not on the Moment. I've seen one in person, and IMO, the moment sits comfortably in the 6 inch travel heavy duty trailbike catagory, but not the freeride catagory. Tube set is still somewhat light, very little gusseting.

Personally, I don't think it's physically possible for a bent tube to make a frame more stiff than a straight tube, without additional weight. Did stiffness increase at the HT or BB? With the TT hunched up, I'm curious how much the standover changed and how it got lower. So many companies do this with their sales/mrktg speak. I wish more companies would quantify and qualify the results of what their promoting.
