    changes to Id frame?

Does anybody know what if any changes there have been to the Id frame since 2002? I'm considering getting a used 2002 frame, not sure what has changed since then. Thanks

    Not 100% sure

If '02 was the first year of the Id then there were a lot of changes. The tri-oval seat stay was replaced with a square tube, a gusset was added to the seat tube/BB area, and the chainstay pivot on the drive side was thinned. These were the common failure points on the Id.

I think the Id's first year was 2001. I know the chainstay drive side is weak on the '03. Mine broke but was warrantied no questions asked by EW. You can read about that story farther down the board. I actually just sold the frame last Friday so I'm no longer an EW owner. Hated to see it go but it was time.
Why would I need more than one gear?
