why doens't interbike come to Canada?
why doens't interbike come to Canada? We have the autoshow but not interbike show. There is anual bike show setup by dealers but it isn't the same category as interbike.
BTAC is usually around the same time in Canada... It's our own Interbike... Normally the show is around early-mid september. It's in Montreal (and some years in Toronto).
Interbike isnt open to the general public anyhow. Unless you're an industry insider, or can get an invite from a friend who is in the biz, you wouldn't get to go anyhow. Aside from that, the small size of the market in Canada relative to the U.S. and relatively close proximity for industry people in Canada to go to Interbike doesn't warrant anything similar in Canada.

- Hotels for 50,000-70,000 people (that cost less than $00-200/night
- Million + square feet of convention space near those hotels
- Access to a good area with DH/XC and good roads for the Demo days
- Good transportation
Right now, Anaheim and Las Vegas are the two go-to cities that can handle this. Denver is being looked at for the future, but they're basically building the hotels that will eventually hold everyone. Mark my words - Anaheim for 2009/10, Denver for 2011+++.
Trust me, as someone who attends both Expocycle and Interbike every year, I REALLY wish it was closer to home, but Vegas has everything the show needs. Apparantly Anaheim does too.

The TO show is getting smaller and smaller every year. It is turning more into get rid of the old stuff.

TO is becoming the ghetto city compare to the US. I visited Washington DC, Oakton, maryland and they all look specular to TO.
