    Welcome Back Junior

Hard to believe it was 23 years ago when you last where in Van for the World Cup stop. And pissing off Mike Pigg.

Now enough dawdling and get on with Kona.

Too bad he got pwned for a 23rd place overall finish. All the meetings with his team of lawyers talking strategy for the grand jury investigation must be eating into his training time.

It was his lack of running legs and brick workouts that killed his race. He came out of the water up front and on the bike was chasing the guy who came first with Conrad Stoltz.

In other words, he started too fast, blew up, and combined with his poor running (relative to a competitive crowd) ended up getting pwned. One of the finishers ahead of him was a junior.

No no the running leg was poor, somebody just needs to let Lance know he needs to put his cleats in the mid-foot position.

Good idea. I'm going to twitter him that suggestion.

Wouldn't say he blew up as he didn't run out of gas. How to explain this for a cyclist

For an age grouper he has the engine. The problem really begins once you leave transition 2 on the run portion. You have to carry your own body weight. And unless you have put in the time with run training this is where you will fall apart. Not from bonking or lack of endurance but simply the body is not prepared through training for the strain of running.

The reality is that when you are on the run portion your weakness will truly show as there is no coasting to rest.

The irony of this whole situation is Lance is back in the beginning. Back when he began challenging the Big 4 and Mike Pigg his running wasn't up there. It was his swim and his bike that was getting him with those guys. But every race as he worked to get better at his running the gap closed.
