New question here. Recommended trail - just outside Toronto?

    Which trail would you recommend?

Looking for about 100 KM outside Toronto. One with nice scenery and near water and good hospitality. It would sub as a weekend getaway from the city.

For example: I have been to Paris Ontario. A good one. Also, Rockwood village has a good one.

Have you tried the section of rail trail along the Grand near Cambridge? It's my favourite section.

Another really nice section links Brantford and Dundas (where I live) and there's tons of hospitality and lovely views out this way too!
Please enjoy seeing this terrible collection of me - something wonderful is about to happy.

If you don't mind paved, you can do a loop around Niagara that takes you along the Parkway, the Welland Canal and the Friendship Trail. Lovely riding.

Similarly, Prince Edward County has some great road riding and excellent hospitality.

St.Catharines, Welland, Port Colborne and Niagara Falls have lots of trails and roads to check out. We have the Short Hills Cycling Club for mostly mtn.biking and the St.Catharines Cycling Club for serious roadies. We also have the Niagara Freewheelers for more casual road riding.
I Googled Ontario cycling clubs. Figure out where you want to go and then contact the local club. They will tell you the best places to ride, stay, eat, etc.

Durham Forest / Glenn Major, Ganaraska

The Scenery in Glenn Major at the top of some of the climbs reminds me that while I'm smack dab in Suburbia, its only a 15 minute drive, and a Gatorade bottle of riding away from being completely surrounded by dense forestry as far as your eye can see.

I've only ever been to Ganaraska once, but I imagine this would be a pretty fantastic place to spend a weekend of riding.

The Gan hits the 100km mark. Just follow the pink arrows. Not much in the way of hospitality or water or views really, but man does it have tons of sweet single track.
