Stage 5 Shock Absorber for Mountain Bikes | Elka Suspension

Grand Junction, CO - Mountain Racing Products, parent company of the MRP, White Brothers, Kreitler, Power Grips, and Tamer product lines, has purchased the bicycle division business of Quebec-based Elka Suspension. As part of the agreement, the company will take over production of Elka Suspension's bicycle Stage 5 rear shocks under the MRP brand. The coil-sprung rear shock features adjustable high and low-speed compression, rebound, and spring preload and is aimed at the downhill, freeride, and all-mountain markets.

"We are excited to add the known performance of the Elka rear shocks into our MRP suspension products. We have been working on internally developing a rear shock line, but our initial development efforts have been focused on the all mountain air market. The Elka product will not only give us immediate entry, but will fit nicely into our internal development efforts. Elka and MRP are very similar companies with respect to goals for product development and customer service. We will benefit greatly from the foundation that Elka has developed with the Stage 5 shock in the bicycle industry as we continue to expand our MRP suspension line." - said Tim Fry, President of Mountain Racing Products.

"The Stage 5 has been a proven performer in the rear shock market since its debut. During the course of our evaluation of it, on our famed local terrain, we've been impressed by its performance, adjustability, and durability. It's a perfect fit to bring it into the MRP product line at the same time that we're incorporating our White Brothers suspension line under the MRP brand. The shock will be a great pairing with our inverted Groove, new 34mm Stage, or revised and refreshed 32mm Loop TR suspension forks." said MRP's product and Marketing Manager Noah Sears
The product will be produced at Mountain Racing Products Grand Junction, CO headquarters and will debut as the MRP Raze 2CR rear shock this week at Eurobike (Booth B4 301/1).

For Elka Suspension, the decision to sell its bicycle suspension division was a strategic move in line with the corporate decision to focus on its core business in the powersports industry. Elka will fully support MRP staff, passing their suspension expertise and helping the transition with former Elka MTB distributors and service centers for sales, warranty and customer support.

"Elka Suspension is growing and moving forward in a high gear, with a sharp focus on its powersports roots. This transaction will be beneficial for both companies to fuel new projects and innovations." said Patrick Tellier, Elka's Director of Marketing.

"We are very happy to have MRP take over our MTB platform. The company has a great reputation for offering top quality products that deliver superior performance backed by strong customer service, which is exactly what we also strive to offer. This transaction will help us concentrate our efforts on our growing segments in powersports." said Martin Lamoureux, President of Elka Suspension.

As part of the agreement, MRP will take charge of any warranty that is still valid, along with after-sales service and support.
