Want to check out some cool riding in amazing, exotic locations, and do something charitable while you're at it? Then join us (Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Holidays) for this fascinating slideshow featuring photos from our recent trip to Peru. Over 10 days, 6 of us mountain biked from Lima to Machu Picchu, riding sections of the world-renowned Inca Trail through remote villages and visiting important Inca archaelogical sites.
We visited remote Andean villages where Quechua is the main language spoken and where the way of life is virtually unchaged from the time of the Incas. We rode 5,000-ft. downhills along trails used by Inca couriers hundreds of years ago. We visited the capital of the empire, Cusco, and strolled along the narrow stone streets. To top it off, we went to world-renowned Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. There's also a special exhibition of life in Ollantaytambo, a quaint Inca village in the Sacred Valley.
Entry to all shows is by donation (suggested:$10) All proceeds will go to Bicycles Without Borders and local cycling clubs. Our recent tour of Western Canada raised over $1200 for local clubs and Bicycles Without Borders!
