Yeah, Claudio is awesome. He does the commentary before all the WC DH races. "Now that was my first crash" LOL

Man, the course has gotten way too easy. The signature root ledge section was routed around a few years back and now all the turns are getting widened & bermed. I was hoping for an epic old school Ste. Anne course after seeing the amazing work they did with Andorra in the last round, but I have to say this one leaves me a bit disappointed.

They've really shortened and simplified the XCO course too, only 4km instead of 5.5km and no La Beatrice. Kabush will be convinced that all those euro riders who couldn't ride La Beatrice have finally won their battle and made the course intermediate instead of black diamond.

I have been riding at MSA since 2009 on everything from an all mtn to a full blown DH (except for a Tin-Blue-Line with a Mag 20 lol).

That's a gnarly progressive course. I can't wait to watch some of the awesome vids/coverage.

I like Steve Smith and hope he pins it to the win!

Progressive, sure, but it's not really gnarly at all compared to some of the other trails on the mountain such as 1837. 4:20 to 5:20 in the video is far harder than anything on the WC course and the entire trail just physically beats you to death from beginning to end.

I wish it were me! I'm not that good, it took me a lot longer to make it down the trail and my hands had to be surgically removed from the handlebars when I was done. My legs were cramped, my shoulders hurt, I was mentally drained, and I had the worst case of arm pump ever when I finally made it to the bottom. I felt relieved just to have survived it, whereas I was having fun sessioning the WC course.

Holy cow, that top section looks WAY faster than it used to be! People are going to be hauling straight into the gnarly bits!

    Great commentary too!
Please enjoy seeing this terrible collection of me - something wonderful is about to happy.

It's stupid fast. Between that and the removal of the 4X section at the end the podium times will likely be under 4 minutes.

From the helmet cam it's really deceiving. It's alot rougher than it looks from that POV

here's singlesprocket on the M9 at MSA and he was using all his travel even on an easy trail.

at the top mt st anne from single sprocket on Vimeo.

There's still some potential for carnage but it's nowhere near as bad as the classic course we're used to seeing. I'm definitely not happy with the direction that Ste. Anne's world cup courses have taken in the last couple years. Hopefully the pendulum swings the other way like it did with Andorra and the courses become disgustingly hard in future years.

I skied Mont-Sainte-Anne many, many times and that top section is imprinted in memory. It can be very fast if you just tuck it (it gets much steeper later).

I also loved the commentary. Very cool.

Special shout out to Rob Fraser who rides at blue

20 women in the MSA WC: I'm cheering for all the women because they inspire me to ride harder and faster!

I was sad to miss the women race, the schedule we had showed the wrong time. I really wanted to see Kristin's ride!

It was amazing to be at the finish line watching Steve's splits get better and better. The crowd went crazy when he crossed the line ahead of Gee's time. Great atmosphere! So much fun.

The XC was exciting too. Despite a lack of Canadian ladies on the podium (for valid reasons!), it was great to see Katerina finally get the win. Well deserved.
